John has been teaching guitar and bass for 21 years. He studied music in the jazz guitar and electric bass program at SIU Edwardsville, and is an extremely gifted musician with an ability to play and teach many styles, including classical guitar and upright bass. John enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels. His influences include Jimmy Page, Christopher Parkening, Carlos Santana, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, Wes Montgomery, and Django Reinhardt. He also has a deep interest in Spanish and South American music. John is currently working on his Rush tribute band.
