Used Pedulla MVP 5 String Bass Guitar
*FREE SHIPPING
The Pedulla MVP 5-String Bass comes from one of the more distinctive names in American boutique bass building. Luthier Michael Pedulla began building instruments professionally in 1975, eventually focusing his work almost entirely on bass guitars and developing instruments with their own recognizable construction, feel, and tonal character. With Pedulla production ending following Michael’s retirement in 2019, original examples have become increasingly desirable among players who appreciate the craftsmanship and individuality of these American-made instruments.
This MVP 5-String showcases many of the features that helped establish Pedulla’s reputation. The AAA flame maple body is paired with a 3-piece maple neck and ebony fingerboard, providing a solid, articulate foundation with a smooth playing surface across all 24 frets. A 34” scale length and 1-7/8” nut width give the five-string layout plenty of room while retaining a comfortable playing feel.
A set of P/J pickups made specifically for M.V. Pedulla by Bartolini is paired with active Bartolini electronics, delivering a clear and powerful voice with extensive tonal control. The onboard layout includes volume, pickup pan, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut, and switchable mid boost/cut, allowing the player to shape everything from focused, articulate tones to deeper and more aggressive bass sounds.
The hardware is equally purposeful, with an ABM machined brass bridge featuring roller saddles and 3-way adjustment, M.V. Pedulla/Gotoh tuning machines, and a bone nut. The neck utilizes a double-acting adjustable truss rod alongside two stiffening bars for additional stability. Complete with its original hardshell case and original Pedulla truss rod tool, this MVP 5-String is an excellent example of the design and craftsmanship that continue to make Pedulla basses sought after long after production ended.
